- International Council of Toy Industries
- "The health and safety of children throughout the world is the driving force behind ICTI, which promotes international toy safety standards
- The following general provisions are assumed in connection with toy safety standards:
- Toys are designed and manufactured for particular categories of children. Their characteristics are related to the age and stage of development of children and their use presupposes certain aptitudes.
- Apart from the risks that are self-evident and inherent in the use of some toys, and assuring that they are used in the manner intended, they should not present any risk for the category of children for which they are intended.
- Accidents and incidents are frequently due to a toy being given to a child for whom it is not intended or being used for a purpose other than for which it was designed. Great care should therefore be taken when choosing a toy or game; account should be taken of the mental and physical development and temperament of the child who will be using it; and the requirements of the standard do not release parents and educators from their responsibility of watching over the child while he or she is playing.
- The requirements in the standard, which apply to new toys, take into account the fact that safety devices should withstand some wear and tear. As a result, the persons in charge of the child should ensure that the toy can be left in the child's hands. "
ALWAYS;
- Have regard to the equipment's intended use
- be aware that Users that are outside the intended weight or height range can injure themselves and other users
- Make sure the blower is at least 1.2 metres from the inflatable, Serious injury can occur if a user strikes the blower unit.
- Ensure that children are supervised at all times by a responsible adult
-
- The vast majority of accidents occur through lack of, or bad supervision ,supervise with common sense.
- We will give guidence to you on safety both verbally and with written instruction that you will sign after reading .
- if in doubt about anything in regards to supervision guidelines ,ask us on delivery ,or phone during the hire to get advice, that is what we are there for.
- Anchor the inflatable to the ground as best as possible in the position that you select for us to erect it in. we would prefer a grass surface but this is not possible if no grass area is available we may use sand bags and a fixed anchor point.. please advise us on booking the unit of the ground conditions that you intend placing the unit on, we dont want to turn up at your property and have no optionbut to dissapoint a crowd of waiting children by refusing to erect the unit because of totally unsuitable ground condtions.
- if winds are high we reserve the right to cancell at short notice, if winds pick up after we leave ,please deflate the unit AFTER you remove all persons from it, and call us immediatly.
- Even in non-windy conditions the inflatable will move and creep (Perhaps taking it dangerously close to the blower .if this happens evacuate immediatly and phone us for advice.
- Follow the instructions given to you by us - They are there for the safety of your children
- Hire on the basis of the safest - Not the cheapest.
